As the country looks forward to celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, here at Roomes we’ve also been reflecting on how proud we are to be a family-run British business with a long and rich heritage in the UK.

We’re also extremely proud to stock furniture from a number of brands who manufacture right here in the UK. It’s a tradition that has sadly been on the decline for a number of years, with a large proportion of the furniture bought in the UK now imported. But there are still many brilliant brands who continue to fly the flag for the UK’s manufacturing industry, and who are producing furniture that’s both beautifully designed and built to stand the test of time.

Ercol

Established in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, in 1920, Ercol has been making unique furniture in England for more than 100 years. Today, the company’s office, showroom and factory are all located in Princes Risborough, and it’s here that every piece of Ercol furniture is designed and produced, using a combination of time-honoured craftsmanship and the latest technology to meet the very highest standards. It’s a combination that has earned the brand many accolades over the years, along with a reputation around the world for delivering the very best in British design and production.

To this day, every G Plan sofa and armchair is handcrafted in the UK by talented craftspeople, using the highest-quality fabrics, premium leathers and a design ethos that’s all about creating furniture that people will live with and love for many years.
