Safe Browsing & Shopping in Store

We would like to let you know about the steps Roomes is taking during these uncertain times. The health and safety of our customers and employees is a top priority. As COVID-19 continues to impact on our daily lives, we have been closely monitoring the situation and are following the advice of published by the Government.

Thank you for your continued patience, we are pleased that the store is now open and would like to outline the steps we have taken to make Roomes a safe shopping experience.

Our Car Park is open as usual, for Customers visiting the Store. We will ask you to enter the store via the front entrance, as the store will be operating a one-way flow system. You will exit via the Car park.

We will monitor the numbers visiting the Store, however there will be plenty of room to social distance.

For your safety:

  • Face Coverings are mandatory for all Customers. If you have forgotten yours, don’t worry as we have a ready supply available in store.
  • Hand sanitisers are available at the entrance and throughout the store
  • You will be asked to follow social distance rules in store and follow the routes shown, which will be marked on the floor
  • Our Staff are equipped with the appropriate PPE for both yours and their safety
  • Each Sales Desk is equipped with
    • Perspex screens
    • Full range of sanitising and cleaning materials
  • We operate an enhanced daily cleaning regime

We have applied Staingard Sanitiser+ product to all our Beds, Sofas and Fabric Chairs. Leather products have been similarly treated with Staingard Saniter+ Leather Protection cream while hard surfaces are also treated using Staingard Sanitiser+.

  • In Store, we will be following all the government safety guidelines to ensure social distancing thought-out the transaction
  • Remotely – either order on our website, via our Wishlist service, or over the phone. We will happily talk through our ranges & options remotely
  • Book a Personal Shopper Appointment – In your unhurried, timed VIP appointment we can guide you through our furniture, bed, flooring or curtain ranges, help to plan your home renovations and assist with measuring your space for flooring and curtains and bedrooms.
  • Book a Home Visit: If you would like to book an at-home appointment with one of our expert interior advisors please use this form or call the store. All appropriate social distancing and Covid Precautions will be taken during our visit.

Whilst our suppliers have returned to work, there are still many un-seen restrictions in their workplaces as they comply with safe working regulations.

Additionally, the lay-off period has meant an increase in demand not only for furniture, but all the component parts involved in its manufacture. Shipping times from around the world have also become extended as ports and logistics companies tackle the backlog and increased demand.

We have found that lead-times have become extended and on occasion unpredictable. We track all our customers orders and if we should receive information of a delay we will of course update you as soon as we know.

In these unprecedented and unpredictable times we are however in the hands of our suppliers to give us the best information available

Any balances will be taken prior to collection over the phone. We will ask you to bring a copy of your order and proof of ID. Please be aware that we will bring your purchase to you vehicle but at present will be unable to load it for you.

In line with the latest Government announcements on COVID-19 and using the government guidelines about Working Safely in Customers Homes. The delivery process are taking slightly longer than normal and we do appreciate your patience

To lessen contact we can accept Balance Payments either by card, over the phone or by BACS Transfer. These are due as usual 3 days prior to delivery.

For smaller items contactless collections are available from our distribution centre, by appointment only. For Directions & Further Details see our Deliveries Page

Our highly skilled fitters will enter your home whilst observing social distancing at all times. And will be equipped with personal protection equipment, sanitising products and adhere to a strict hygiene regime.

Prior to Booking your designated fitter will call you to confirm that no-one in the household is self-isolating or has symptoms of Covid-19. If that is the case we will arrange a date for a later time. Providing everything is OK and they can proceed with the delivery, they will run through the procedures for the day and confirm your appointment.

On the day of fitting we ask that there is a clear route to the room of your choice and that you open the windows for ventilation. On the day of fitting the fitter will ask from a safe distance where goods are to be fitted. We will then ask that you isolate in a separate room.

The flooring will be fitted in the normal way and waste and packaging removed.

We will not as for a signature for the product but will ask for a verbal confirmation that all is OK, which will be noted on you paperwork.
